In-person Postcard-writing

Join Indivisible Eastside at safe, friendly in-person postcard-writing events!

When: Every other Friday

Where: The Village at Totem Lake, 1901 NE Village Plaza, Kirkland, WA 98034
Meet by the fireplace in front of 203°F Coffee Co. (Suite 171)

What: Write postcards to support higher turnout among likely progressive voters

More info:

  • For maximum safety, we will meet and write outside by the fireplace.  This is an open-air area that has a roof, so it should be comfortable enough in almost any weather. There are no stairs to reach the fireplace area. (see photo)
  • Arrive any time between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm.  You can choose to stay and write with us or simply pick up a postcard packet to be completed at home (or do both).
  • Postcard campaigns will vary according to availability; options may include campaigns supported by Activate America, Reclaim Our Vote, Field Team 6, and others.
  • If possible, bring a clipboard (clipboards will also be provided).
  • Donations are appreciated to cover the costs of stamps (currently $0.40 per postcard stamp) and supplies; you may also provide your own stamps/supplies.
  • Whenever needed, please pick up a sponsored packet at no cost with our thanks for volunteering your time to write postcards!  On the other hand, if you have more money than free time, please consider sponsoring a packet for someone else to write.  We are all in this together.
  • If you would like to pick up a packet but can’t join the event, please email us (see below) to arrange a different pickup time.
  • Refreshments are available at 203°F Coffee Co., the Starbucks at the Barnes and Noble, and other locations at the shopping center.
  • There is ample free parking at the shopping center.  In addition, this location is served by buses 225 and 239.  Totem Lake Transit Center is located two blocks away and is served by buses 225, 239, 255, 893, and 930.
  • This is a family-friendly location—younger kids may like to play on the play structures across the street by Salt & Straw or the playground one block away by Totem Lake; older kids may like to join us in drawing or writing postcards.
  • We look forward to seeing you!  Email Elizabeth at with any questions.
