Extreme climate events are causing devastation all around the US and the world. Come join the Faith Action Climate Team at our annual conference on Saturday, October 28th from 9am (8:30 registration) to 5pm at Mt Zion Baptist Church in Seattle. Our theme this year is Love at the Crossroads: Climate and Social Justice. For conference brochure, go here TinyURL.com/
We will be looking at and delving into the complex crossroads where climate intersects with other vital social justice issues which we all care deeply about. As always we want to figure out possible solutions. We want to do this in partnership (rather than in silos) with the wonderful activists and non-profits who work with dedication on these issues. Using an interfaith panel and an inspiring keynote speaker, we will look at faith’s primary call to love and what it means to approach these issues from faith and in a spirit of love. Are you in?
We are honored that our keynote speaker will be Deborah Parker, former Vice Chair of the Tulalip tribe. She also is on the Board of Our Revolution (Post Bernie Sanders campaign). She served from 2005-2012 as a Policy Analyst in the office of Governmental Affairs for the Tulalip Tribe. She also spoke at a huge, Native women led NO DAPL demonstration in DC and is passionate about climate issues.
A wonderful vegan, organic lunch will be provided as well as morning beverages. Please bring your own mug or water bottle if possible.
